ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ESG INITIATIVE
Forest Fire Fighting 2024
In the summer of 2024, Titjaluk was contracted by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to provide a Bell 205 helicopter for firefighting efforts during the forest fires near Churchill Falls and Labrador City. Equipped with a 420-gallon helibucket, this helicopter was capable of transporting up to 10 firefighters at a time. Our team conducted hundreds of water drops over the fires, playing a crucial role in protecting both lives and property. On several occasions, we were able to quickly deploy crews and begin bucketing operations on new fires, extinguishing them before they could spread.
We are grateful for the opportunity to protect and preserve our forests—one of our most precious natural resources. At Titjaluk Logistics, safeguarding the land where we operate is a core value, and we are committed to being responsible stewards of these environments.

RENEWABLE FUEL ESG INITIATIVE
Nunatsiavut Firewood Supply Chain
At Titjaluk we strive to create the lowest possible impact on the natural environment, while delivering value and helping the communities that we operate in. That's why we began our firewood initiative as part of Natural Resources Canada's clean energy for rural and remote communities (CERRC) program. By shipping firewood to the Nunatsiavut communities of the North coast of Labrador at cost, we provide a cheap and renewable option for home heating. We produced this firewood from reclaimed and under size saw logs diverted from forestry operations. Titjaluk has displaced over 123 000 litres of home heating fuel since the project began in 2021, helping indigenous people and the planet.
